Daily Car Repair and Advice Tips Question 12 New Car Time

Dear Motor Medics,
I have been a loyal listener to your radio program for many years and have learned that it is best to do my research and seek advice before making a vehicle purchase so here goes. I really like the looks of the redesigned Chevrolet Camaro and have decided to purchase a brand new one. I took a RS coupe for a test drive this past week and fell in love with it. I am looking at the V6 model as a cost savings in fuel, insurance, and the overall expense. I would love the V8 but it’s just out of my price range. Is there anything negative I should be looking out for?

Sherri, a loyal Hoodie in Livonia Michigan

Dear Sherri,
We really like the new Chevy Camaros. They’re nice retro looking sports cars with great modern features. The new V6 direct injected engine provides plenty of horse power while maintaining great fuel economy. This engine design used in the Camaro has been out for several years now with very few problems. As far as the rest of the car goes they are still quite new on the market but from what we have seen they are a fairly low repair vehicle meaning there are not a lot coming into the shop in need of work yet. I think you are safe in your choice and if I were looking to buy a car the Camaro would be on my list.

Take care, the Motor Medics
