This 1957 Cadillac Hearse belongs to Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown, SD. They brought this car to us completely stripped and in primer as just a stock rolling chassis and they were looking to make a more radical ride out of it. They told us that it would be used in the daily services of the funeral home and be a driver so it had to have air and all the modern comforts and appear stock on the outside but had to be totally radical underneath.
We designed a modern LS engine powered drivetrain with complete air bag suspension front and rear with a 4 link out back and dual compressors for quick air up with a wireless remote. The engine is from a truck for work durability but got the complete Corvette look package to set it off.
Inside we enlisted the help of Dakota Digital to make us custom digital gauges and air ride and a/c control panels and they did an amazing job.
The exhaust is one of our favorite features. We built a dual system with cutouts giving the driver a choice of Church Quiet or WAKE THE DEAD!
When we had the drivetrain finished we shipped it off to Custom Joe's Paint and Body in Tea, SD. where he laid down the blue finish.
Bill then took it back home to Watertown to install the new interior and glass.
This is one sweet ride and Nordstroms NFP and Under The Hood are proud to have been part of the build.
